That is really cool how the magnet levitates after the super conductor got sprayed with the special gass. It would not even move befor and after they were always moving, like there is a speacial force.

Wow this really is amazing! I did a project with magnets and levitation once, but in never really worked out, who would have thought that adding liquid nitrogen, i think it was, would m make it do that. This really will lead a new path to the future, that is definite, in trains, and moving things, trasportation and conservation can finally work togehter. Maybe cold really is the future.
That video is SO cool! In the previous article on absalute zero, the idea of making "floating trains" seemed vague. It's incredible that it is such a real possibility!!!the flux effect is the coolest! However, it still needs to go a long way to be safe for carryibg people! I wonder if reaching absalute zero will somehow stabalize and strengthen the magnetic power? They"re only a billionth away, so maybe not....
This is awesome! I cant wait until this technology come into daily use. It would save a ton of money and be much faster because there would be no friction to slow down vehicles. But then, how would we slow down while levitating??? Maybe flaps? I don't know but that will probably be solved in the near future.

I thought that the video was really interesting. Originally, when the absolute zero article described it I thought it sounded really cool but after seeing the video it seemed even cooler. If they got this to work it would save a lot of energy too, reducing our great need for sources of energy that will one day not exist.

Wow i am amazed by the video. it was really cool to learn about the messiner effect,that placed in the right postion that it will let it float. If we can do that in larger life, than we will be able to have floating cars,and trains.I was so fasinated that there was a actually train that can float.
Its amazing that the concept of floating trains may become a reality maybe even within the century. Not to mention flying cars, skateboards and bikes. And scientists haven't even reached absolute zero yet, who knows what will be possible when they do!

I thought that this video was really cool. What I found most interesting was the part where they show the superconductor before and after the liquid nitrogen. Superconductors, to me, are so interesting because it is like looking into the future.
This video is cool and the fact that they figured out how to do this and that it can actually be done is cool.
The most interesting fact of the video was the levitation effect that the superconducter caused on the magnet. This effect if made stronger can perhaps be used in order to power the hovercars shown in the video. The superconductors had a behavior close to that of a magnet, im guessing that the extreme temperature of the superconducter gave it a magnetic field.
This is pretty cool, but wouldn't it be super expensive? Also, after a while wouldn't the superconductor cool down and stop levitating the object?

That is amazing. This is one of the reasons I love science, you get to learn new things all the time and even better there is always a surprise around the next corner. I can't wait until the technology is developed for us to be able to have levitating vehicles. The only disadvantage I see with this is that what kind of havoc would this reek is there was a collision or the flux trapping effect fails for a critical moment and the vehicle flies off the road? You also couldn't go off-roading unless there was a permanently attached superconductor underneath the vehicle. Well the answers will reveal themselves eventually. I still think this is really cool and exciting. Thank the Lord for Science to be able to understand the world.

I think it would be pretty cool to have levitating trains and cars, but how would you stop? Would you make the temperature higher to make the superconductor not cold anymore? I think that's one of the downfalls of this idea.
This topic seems to get COOLER and COOLER. The magnetic suspension and levitation are unbelievable. The flux trapping effect demonstrates how we can really make railroads and even streets able to have levitating vehicles running over them.

This technology seems promising, although there are some obvious problems that need to be solved. Such speeds would necessitate a reliable braking system that either does not rely on friction or utilizes aerial friction to compensate for the transport's nearly friction-less route. But if roadblocks such as these are paved away, the future would be wholly revolutionized given humanity has the ability to build an umbrella for a time where there will come soft rains.
This is awesome. I always thought that superconductors just made it easier to transmit electricity. I didn't know about the special properties that would let you levitate and suspend objects - we could use this for so many things!

I found the magnetic suspension to be particularly interesting. Could it be used to lift other objects, or would that not be practical? Hopefully this research will be put to use in the future to make more efficient transportation.

I like the theory of levitation! It makes it useful to have different levels of magnetism to suspend something higher up. Having magnates on other sides of an object can allow it to move around in certain directions, a cool idea would be to create artificial, adjustable, magnates and control something to fly through the air like a hover craft!

This is really cool. The research on superconductors will continue to improve technology. Scientific research is always a good way for the world to improve and advance its knowledge. Using superconductors to make floating trains thats a good idea but it's probably going to take a lot of work to make it safe for people to ride in.

Interesting, but not applicable as of yet. As the size of the objects increased, would the temperature have to lower to create a magnetic field with a greater pull? If there is a correlation between the size of the object with its magnetic field and the temperature, I don't think this will be in use for quite some time.

This could be extremely helpful in the future! These magnets could be used instead of electricity (which costs money) and magnets would cost much less, if not, no money at all! If we can get the magnets to work rather efficient this could be much more helpful rather then using other forms of expensive energy use.

This is pretty cool for just magnets. I was wondering what would happen if you put something in between the magnets but the knife didn't seem to make a difference. But this will be great for saving energy and creating a new way of saving it.

I find this video really a basis for a whole new future. The miessner effect was really fascinating and the whole flux trapping is somewhat hard to understand. If scientists persist in this field, we could be looking at a next generation of 'fuel'.
Electrical resistance is where electrons strike the lattice, but in superconductors no single collision is energetically favourable. This leads to zero electrical resistance.
